Betrayed by Their Own

image generated by AI inspired in the poem

A mother and a son who crossed the line, Theft of Nancy's laptop on this day in time. The punishment is now one of incarceration, Betrayal by their own, a grievous sensation.

Through their mother's heart a deepforgotten cry, As she sees in her son, times that could have been denied. But alas, the deed was done, a bad decision made, Earned through their own steps, a tenuous trade.

A war waged between Mother and son, Who could've seen that this day would now come? A target that has now moved too close to home, The penalty for their crime, has now been shown.

For her son the mother pleads, a tear in her eye, As she watches as his freedom slips away For Nancy the thief, it is a justified claim, That these two must suffer beyond measure for their shame.

Though they've brought this evil on themselves, Her mother's love for her son will never fail. The deepest wound of all the grief and pain, Is knowing that justice has been her son's bane.
