A cloak of secrecy, a life rebuffed, In off-grid wilderness, their spirits huffed, Isolated from the world, a hidden kingdom, A pledge broken, trust forever scarred. In this self-made universe, doubts did sway, A captive soul, the truth, forever marred.
The commune's doctrine, an ideology, tough, Youthful mind, pliable, innocence snuffed, Brainwashed and ensnared, beliefs instilled, An alternate reality, his only kin. Controlled, manipulated, captive within, Into their clutches, he could never win.
His family's pleas, the anguish in each cough, Heartache endured, resilience was a trough, But now his journey ends, he finds release, From the trauma that held him in its grip. Rebuilding a life, as memories shall fade, A survivor of darkness, his spirit still equipped.
