The Awakening Flames

Title: The Awakening Flames

In a world weary, burdened by despair, 2023 unveiled Nature's urgent plea, No longer a distant threat suspended in air, Climate change arrived, unwelcome and free. Destruction unfurled its unforgiving wing, As flames danced higher, a mournful symphony.

Raging wildfires devoured once vibrant lands, Their greedy tongues licked at innocence lost, Man's neglect igniting the hourglass sands, While smoke-filled skies whispered the bitter cost. The cries of nature silenced, forever gone, The hushed symphony of life, forever tossed.

Mother Earth wept, her seas lamenting tides, Inundating shores with relentless wrath, Unyielding storms brewed, chaos in their strides, Tearing through foundations, exposing our path. Yet blind eyes refused to see nature's plea, The consequences now clear as aftermath.

Glaciers, majestic guardians of the north, Bowed to the relentless heat's cruel demand, Their icy tears melting, swallowed by dearth, A testament to our negligence, unplanned. The silence of their fall echoed in remorse, A chilling echo of Earth's final stand.

Oh, what have we done, in our arrogance? To scorn the planet that offered us birth, Our paradise consumed by our own absence, Praying for redemption, for nature's worth. Can we find solace in redemption's embrace, Or shall we be forever bound by this curse?

Through the ravages, a glimmer of hope, A collective conscience stirred from deep within, United, we rise above the slippery slope, To mend our broken bond, to right the sin. For the Earth's survival rests in our hands, Her salvation lies in every choice we've been.
